Back in 2013, I designed and developed a microsite for film and television critic Matt Zoller Seitz's book on the works of director Wes Anderson. Using a combination of GIFs, CSS3 and jQuery, I created an entirely animated website using the book's artwork by illustrator Max Dalton.
The book was so successful that a year later the author released a follow-up based on The Grand Budapest Hotel. I got to create a whole new section of the website to help promote the sequel.
To keep loading times down, I animated a looping GIF of Royal Tenenbaum walking in place and used CSS3 to move him across the site.
Throughout the site are lots of little details and easter eggs. Like the wolf from Fantastic Mr. Fox.
